Hey all, im having problems setting up my Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1 card in Windows 2000 Professional. I've reinstalled Win2k fresh twice already, and im getting the same problem. What happens is, when Win2k boots up for the first time, the device manager recognizes my card as a Multimedia Audio Device without drivers installed, which is normal for a fresh boot. So i install the drivers by popping in the installation cd and clicking Drivers Only, installing only the drivers. All installs well, and i restart my computer. Win2k loads up, but no sound. When i go into device manager, i dont even see my sound card there, i just see a bunch of legacy audio drivers instead. My motherboard, an MSI K7T-Pro2a, supports onboard legacy audio, but i have it turned off. How can i disable these legacy audio drivers, which automatically enable themselves when i install the SBLive drivers? i checked the soundblaster site for driver updates, but the drivers there are the same as the cd's. And, yes, this card is fully supported by Win2k Pro.
