Hi,

I just did a fresh install of Win2K and now my Soundblaster Live! card is not working. I tried to let Windows install the best drivers - none found.
I also d/l the liveware drivers from the Creative web site - I install the drivers using their program but when I restart, Win2K still pops up a message saying "New Hardware found" and then again "No suitable drivers available". When I try to force Win2K to use the Creative drivers, the only ones available are for "SB 16 and AWE 32", but when I install those, I get the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

It was working fine before! Same configuration - no change to the machine.

Please - I need help - I really need my card for music editing!

try *completely* removing each individual driver from the Device Manager [right-click -> Uninstall...], and completely remove all traces of LiveWare from your computer...

then grab LiveWare again. reinstall it into Windows 2000...

also remember don't do the add new hardware wizard that Win2K does...cancel out of it...and just install liveware...it should install the drivers and setup everything for you.

Alright, I d/l the SB Live! 5.1 Drivers and it installed fine. I can now see the little speaker symbol in the bottom right corner. But I can't hear any sound out of my speakers. I checked that the speakers are plugged into the right output jack, are powered on, nothing is muted, and I'm playing a song. Volume is cued up.

Help!!!
