SoundBlaster Live and Aopen

Need help, I just reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled win98. It seems as though my AOpen fax/modem and SoundBlaster Live card cannot be on the mother board at the same time. One will work while the other won't. I put the modem in load the drivers it install perfectly. Place the sound card in win98 detects, I install drivers and restart, win98 halts. If I install the sound card first then the modem does not work right. Any help with this?

Sounds like an IRQ conflict. Change your modem IRQ to 5, or your SB to 9. (consdiering they're probably conflicting on 7) Just install the SB first, and when you install the modem go to the device manager, and change the IRQ settings of the modem to a itterupt that isn't being used.
