On the SB Audigy 2 ZS PLATINUM there is an "internal i&o drive" which has a jumper "JP1".
This jumper is supposed to be used when a dynamic microphone is used rather than a condenser mic (condenser mic which is the default setting).
Can anyone tell me what exactly does this jumper do? Does it enable/disable MIC_BIAS voltage or does it enable some kind of "built-in" mic preamp for dynamic microphones?
I have a Audigy 2 ZS (NON Platinum), so it's the same card minus this "i/o driver" part. I was looking over a ton of PCB images but need to know whether this jumper JP1 is somewhere on the PCB as well?
( Maybe what this jumper does is *turning off* the Bias_Voltage which is normally supplied on the middle/'ring' part of the 3.5mm connector...since from what I read dynamic microphones do not need this voltage as opposed to condenser mics )
The situation is I have a dynamic mic coming and *supposedly* there could be problems with 'certain soundcards' due to low volume etc...
