I have two computers with old soundcards (SB16 and SB32). Both systems have 2-speaker/subwoofer systems. I am thinking of replacing both cards with OEM versions of the SB Live! 5.1 (Newegg has them for $32 + $4 shipping). Will I notice ANY difference between the old cards and the SBLive! cards while playing games? I do not plan on upgrading the speakers (to 4) anytime soon. Would you do it? Thanks for the advice ...........

There will be soem difference in all aspects. The CPU utilization would be less and the sound is better. There would be more features on the card if you're looking at playing MIDI.

You'll notice a big difference in sound quality if you jump to the Audigy OEM card--consider that for at least 1 of your systems...

Yea, get an Audigy if you insist on Creative. Consider the TB Santa Cruz, should be close to your budget.
