I can't get any sound on my computer.

I have installed, uninstalled, re-installed, and uninstalled the update on the realtek audio driver and still can't get sound out of my speakers or my headphones. I have restarted my computer twice as well.

Everything else is working.

My mobo is Asus M5 A97 R2.0. It is registering that there is something plugged into the port but no sound is coming out.

check your bios. it may be turned off in there.
also check mute

also check in the controll pannel under sounds and make sure the default output device is set correctly
