i installed a nintendo ds emulator, and now my sound doesn't work.. i reinstalled drivers already, so i'm not sure what else i can do... could it be possible for bad software to somehow mess up my sound? my computer still thinks that the sound works... anyone have any suggestions for me?

and i don't need comments on how i shouldn't be installing emulators cause they're illegal etc etc.... i learned my lesson.. just please help! thank you!

If you're using XP, just use System Restore and go back to a date before you installed the emulator. Hopefully you're not one of the people that has disabled system restore (no good reason to do that).

thanks for the suggestion... it didn't work, however... well in a way it did.. so after i did a restore, i shut my computer down.. then as i was closing the cover to my laptop, i heard sound!! apparently it seems like it might be a physical problem.. i can only get sound when my screen is almost all the way closed.. so i guess i just gotta look in my manual or contact dell for schematics

by the way, it's a dell 700m...
