Sound went out

I got home from my trip, turned on my comp and went to plug in my headphones. I plugged them into my X-Fi but the pci plate thing moved (plastic locks suck). I thought nothing of it, but now I have no sound. I opened up my comp and made sure it was seated right, which it is. Turned back on, still nothing. I think it may be fried, but are there any things I might be missing?

Update:

I have sound in "Entertainment Mode"
But Audio Creation has a high pitched whine (through headphones, not from card itself)
And Game Mode says it requires a restart (wtf?), though I remember a few weeks ago game mode produced a midrange whine. Audio Creation still worked at that point.


Looks like the card is going out?
