over time i began having troubles with my turtle beach santa cruz...after playing vice city for a little bit, the audio would just stop. my MP3s would skip every once in a while. these problems came out of nowhere, i didn't know how to fix them. i tried updating the drivers for my sound card, that gave me more problems. watching a movie with sound would make the sound very choppy and my computer would run slow. i tried reloading old drivers off the OEM disk that came with the santa cruz. i've reinstalled the drivers over and over, i've even tried reinstalling vice city. now i get an error that says it can't find audio hardware, and the sound is choppy like before. i'm running a turtle beach santa cruz on a nonoverclocked athlon 2500+ running winxp home.

You might want to try uninstalling the audio driver, the Turtle Beach software, and then using Regedit to delete anything that has to do with that soundcard. Then when you reload the driver, there's a much better chance that you won't have any problems with it. BTW, have you checked the Readme.txt for ViceCity, to make sure that there are no issues with that soundcard? You might also want to check on their website, to see if there are any patches.
