Sound that only young people can hear

The new movie that just came out called the Messengers talks about a frequency that only young people can hear. I assumed it was just something they made up for the sake of the movie. Apparently not. If you go to their website you can listen to two different ringtones that have the ultrasonic frequency in them. I'm interested to hear how many ATOTers can hear this sound, and how old you are. I'm twenty and hear a kinda high pitched squeal, like when a TV is turned on, but it makes my jaw hurt.

Oh. I tried searching, but didn't find anything. As far as all people being able to hear it, I read an explanation on the IMDB board, saying that the sound is in the upper ranges of what people can hear, and that by the time you get to be an adult, your hearing is generally too damaged to hear this frequency. Whether or not that is true is debatable. Oh well, I'm sure somebody will read this that's never heard it before.

I can hear it, but it's a very faint squeal, and i'm 30.

And as if anybody would want that as their ring tone.

I remember seeing somewhere, that businesses, etc, use small electronics that emit these freqs to prevent younger people from loitering - when a small crowd forms, the device gets turned on somehow and emits uncomfortable frequencies....

I also remember seeing electronic plans somewhere online...if I find them I'll post 'em...

I used to have very sharp hearing, but ever since working that job in a manufacturing plant during college, my hearing has been pretty crappy. I constantly have to have people repeat things if I am not looking directly at them (I partly read their lips now). I doubt I can hear this.
