I got a new video card but in my excitement I forgot to think about audio. I am going to be playing games on a Samsung 52" lcd tv. I got this video card
Will the DVI carry sound or do I have to use SPDIF and if I have to use SPDIF will I be losing sound quality?

Is the DVI->VGA + SPDIF good or
Is the DVI->HDMI (do i still need SPDIF) better?

If I get this card will it bundle video and audio hdmi for my tv?

links to information on this topic will be appreciated.

If your TV has HDMI

Use DVI -> HDMI
Along with a optical or digital audio connector if you are using a reciever
If you are just using the TV speakers (2.0) then get a 3.5mm Stereo Mini -> L/R RCA

HDMI Will not carry audio from 8800GT. DVI->HDMI pretty much will never take audio unless using a specific adaptor built for ATi Cards

I think I might be better off just sending this back and getting the 4850 like almost everyone on these forums says anyway.

Oh why did I try to be an independent thinker?

If I get this card will it bundle video and audio hdmi for my tv?
