Sound skips while transfering files

I'm not sure what the problem is but I recently upgraded my video card (6600GS AGP) to be able to connect to my new 2045 through dvi. The only problem is that while "downloading" or "uploading" files my sound stops. For example if I upload a file onto a ftp my sound just pauses, however it resumes back when its done transfering. I have a mbox connected to usb, im not sure if this is my sound problem or video. It didnt happen before when using the other video card.

I'd start with a mobo chipset update.
If you are using PCI network card try another PCI slot.

What m/b and soundcard?

Check for conflicts in system resources.
