Sound saturation while gaming.

Why does it happen? I have the latest drivers installed and the offending game worked with the last install of windows. Any advice to be had? It's basically unplayable before I even start a game, not just the sound either. The sound starts to distort from the menu and shortly afterwards the whole game runs much slower... :|

Oh and this is apparently the only game affected. I have already tried reinstalling *sigh*

I ran into a similiar problem using a Santa Cruz card; for some reason I was getting multiple stacks of the drivers in System.ini and it created a logjam. Had some other cleaning to do, so i reformated and installed the original drivers and the problem disappeared. Take a look in your system.ini file and see you can locate a line that contains "MinSP" and look what number parameter you have; mine was set at 5 and wasn't enough (according to error message log), and no matter what I changed it to, no difference. Maybe you'll have better luck. But if the problem started when you installed the latest drivers, you may have an incompatibility issue. good luck
