Sound quit from Soundmax on Asus MB

Just finished my new build and I get sound from the front panel to my headphones. Hooked up my rear speakers to the yellow port and sound came from the speakers, but then a soundmax setup box pops up and says I am hooking my speakers to the wrong port. It is the only port that I get sound to my speakers. When I clicked cancel, sound stopped going to the speakers and could not get sound through any of the rear ports or even to my headphones when connected on the back. However, still got sound out the front port.
