Sound question

I just have a quick question. I recently built an Athlon 2500+ @1.92 (right now) on a DFI NF2 Ultra Lan Party board. My question is that I have heard the Nvidia Soundstorm is a great integrated sound but, since I overclock a wee bit, I've noticed during installations, etc, it crackles while a lot of load is on the CPU. I am wondering if I should just use my Hercules Muse 5.1 over the Nvidia?? Even though I have read otherwise, my muse is a great card but I am wondering if it compares to Soundstorm?? Thanks.

you will lose a lot of performance in games, especially with eax enabled, but you might get an improvement in sound quality (crackling will go away at least). I get crackling with my a7n8x deluxe, but only when using speakers or headphone with low impedance.

Hehe, I'm using a 9200 overclocked, so my performance is taking a serious hit as is ^^. But, did you mean I will lose performance popping the PCI card in or sticking with the onboard? I would've thought since onboard uses the same pipeline as the CPU, using IT would hamper performance..?

actually, the nforce APU is a very efficient piece of hardware... in some benchmarks is actually has lower cpu utilization than an audigy 2
