alright, I thought some of you smart guys could maybe help me out. here is the deal. my apartment has some heatpump for heat/ac. the air ducts obviously run right from my floor up to the second, same line because I can hear EVERY word that comes out of that room. I can hear the TV, radio, conversations(which can be really amusing). the good thing is the girl upstairs is only active in her room about 1 hour a day.
the air duct is made of aluminium, so it echoes quite well.

but I am tired of this stuff. i sleep with earplugs on the nights she has friends over late, and its not enough. i cant sleep with people screaming and laughing. I have banged on the ceiling before and that shuts them up somewhat, but its the whole principle of it. is there anything anyone can think of that I could do do sound proof the ducts, w/o blocking the air?

ANY ideas will be apprecitated.

You can move, you lucky guy. You must live in one of those buildings built for the sole purpose of maximizing investor return, heh heh. (I mean your building was built cheap!)

What about a flowmaster?

you could line the duct with some sound dampening material. or run a fan or something to create white noise..

yeah line the interior of the duct with dynamat car audio sound dampening material

it is expensive and the ducts are not your property - so my suggestion is kind of lame
