Hello again,
I built a computer a month or so ago for my brother, and from the get-go, its onboard sound didn't work. Here're the specs real quick:
Athlon XP 3000+
Abit AN-7
Radeon 9600 pro
512 Kingston PC3200
Soundblaster Live! (yes, it's five years old)
So anyway, shouldn't onboard sound work regardless of anything you mess up in other places? I looked briefly in the BIOS for any odd settings, but didn't see something of particular importance...
To compensate for the problem, we ripped a Soundblaster card from my Dell 800 mhz PC, and it was working just fine until... well... now our sound's dead again. I wouldn't be surprised if the card is fried... after all, the thing is at least five years old.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-David
