I have an ECS K7S5A, a DURON 1.0GHz and 256Mb DDR and I'm having some problems when using WMP. I can hear the Windows Sound when it starts up, Cd's using the default Win CD player and MP3 files using WINAMP, BUT....when I try to use the Windows Media Player or try to hear ANYthing via Internet, I have no sound!! The Windows Media Player and all streaming programs don't produce anysound. I read that I should check if the CODECS are installed and, in fact, one CODEC was not properly installed. Windows should download and install any missing CODEC that is necessary to play a music, but it simply ignores this CODEC. I've already checked the option to automatically download CODECS, but nothing happens...........wHAT CAN i DO??!

Actually, I've alrealdy tried to do that! But I've been searching the whole site for that CODEC (Windows Media Audio V8) and I just can't find it. I just found a help file telling me to go to the Add new hardware option and install the CODEC I need. The problem is that I don't have the option to install this specific CODEC, but only some others from MICROSOFT and as I don't have the file to install I just can't do it.
