Sound problems with MSI KT Pro2a

I recently installed the MSI board in my system and I'm pretty happy with it, but for some reason the audio will lock up after a few minutes and emit a rather annoying tone. This happens with both the on-board audio, and my aureal sound card. I run Win2K but since I ran the card under win2k before I got the new motherboard I figure its not the OS. If anyone has experienced this kind of thing before please help me out.

Do you have both the on board sound and your sound card installed at the same time? Or was this one, then the other?

My random dart suggestion is check for irq or io conflicts.

If you haven't already, disable the on board sound and see if your sound card works still does this.

This probably isn't much help, but oh well.
