Sound problems in Suse 10

I have the sound card installed and the control panel in Suse shows that its drivers are loaded and lsmod shows the various modules that need to be loaded for it are. The problem is that I am not able to record any audio on this card. If I try and use the testsound application in Suse the artsd daemon crashes. If I try and use krecord to record from the line in it isn't able to get a list of devices. This is the built in sound card for a Dell Precision 420MT which is a Crystal SoundFusion 4680. Help is appreciated.
 
Ok I have it so that the audio is working but xawtv is not capturing the audio for some reason. It captures video from the TV tuner card but not the audio from the line in. I know it's getting the audio from the line in because I can monitor the audio on that PC's speaker. I don't see a configuration option in xawtv to change the input source or anything for audio.
