Sound problem

I just reformatted, and for some reason the recovery disk didnt install the sound card. So i went to sound blaster's site and downloaded the drivers. Its a SB Live. It worked fine for a day or so, now there is all this static that i cant get rid of. You can faintly hear the music in the background, but the static drowns it out.



Any ideas???
