sound problem when minimizing and maximizing windows...

i'm using win2k and when i'm minimizing, maximizing, or scrolling windows i have some kind of sound interference that happens. this happens both on my speakers and headphones, so i'm guessing it's some kind of software problem. i'm using a LIVE! platinum SC...any ideas as to how i can correct the problem?
