I know, wrong forum for on topic subjects, but...
My system is an Athlon 900, Abit KT7A (Via KT133a chipset), SB Live, 512MB Ram and WinXP.
When listening to mp3's or launching a program that "chimes" on start up, I get choppy sound. Like the processor is bogged down. I even get it when switching between windows in IE6.
It wasn't much of a problem until I started using my PC for home (music) recording. Now when I use Fruity Loops (a drum machine program), I get really weird pops and a static like sound.
Is there a known conflicts between SB Live! or Via KT133a or Athlon chips or WinXP? (It didn't do this in 98 or 2k)
Thanks!
