Sound popping/crackling

Hey everyone

I've got a bit of a problem. I've got an old SB128 PCI card which sounds just fine, except when I'm actually using the computer 😛 The problem is that any time that something significant changes on the screen, I get an ugly static-like 'pop' out of my speakers... This includes, say, when I hover my mouse over a link in IE and it changes color, or when I run some WinAMP vis plugins...

I've read that this could have to do with IRQ sharing in winxp and one of the devices wanting to lock the IRQ, but am not totally sure... Any ideas?
