Sound playback contains static

All,

I have tried installing and reinstalling quicktime, but nothing seems to work. When I play movie trailers, the sound is has static and popping noises in the background. I find this very disturbing when I'm trying to watch a movie or such. Even though it's subtle, I would like to find a way to fix this. I have a Soundblaster Live Value, WinME, and the newest version of quicktime. And of course I have the latest drivers for my sound card. The static occurs in both Internet Explorer and Netscape, as well as when I play a movie without viewing it through the browser (by opening up quicktime on it's own). Thanks in advance.

If all your playback is fuzzy, I would reinstall the drivers. I had a similar thing happen last month with my Dell system -- but it wasn't just quicktime.
