Sound out to tv

I'm having trouble getting sound to play on my tv from my sound card. I have a line going out from the sound card to the 2 rca jacks on the back of my tv. But, the sound still won't come out of the tv. I checked all the sound properties, nothing is muted. Any ideas?

Is the TV on the correct input for both video and sound?

If you plug in a pair of headphones or something to the output you're using on the soundcard, does that work?

On the correct video input. But, headphones don't work...in any jack. What does this mean?

I notice on my other sound card, headphones only work if I put them where the speakers are (disconnecting the speakers). It's a soundblaster live.

Well yeah... if you have it set to 2.0/2.1, only one jack will output anything.

You're trying to hook up computer speakers as well as the TV speakers?
