Sound only coming out of one speaker from SoundBlaster Live?!????

Hi, my friend has a soundblaster Live 5.1 and klipse pro media 4.1 and he's running win 2k.... his problem is that sound only comes out of his right rear speaker... all of the cables are connected correctly and he's reinstalled the drivers 4 times already to no avail... what else can be the problem?? is it a bum card?? we've checked the mixers to make sure it wasnt the balancers... Any help would be great... thanks in advance!

Have you tested the speakers on another system? It's entirely possible that they are the bad component.. 🙂 (Of course, it could be the Live as well...have you tried it with different speakers?)

Check to make sure the jack is plugged all the way in. my wife had the same problem with here system, until she pushed that jack in a little farther. Now she gets great sound.

Go into the volume control which you can find in your systray, if you know anything about computers, you know what this is. Click on properties and make sure all your boxes are checked so you can see all the properties. Then make sure that the balance is not off to the right. There is a 9 out of 10 chance this is your problem. happens all the time.

Trying switching the speakers(cords where you plug them into the card), helped me a couple of times.
