Built a new computer last year based off an MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC. When I did the install, it came with the Nahimic app, and I’ve used the app presets of gaming and music with no problems. I play through headphones.

Today, the Nahimic app auto launched. I don't know why. I had just closed down playing a game in Steam when it popped up.

I closed the Nahimic app but now I am not getting audio.

I checked the headphones with another device, and they work fine.

In control panel under Sound, video and game controllers, I see the following:

Nahimic mirroring device
NVIDIA High Definition Audio
NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device
Realtek Audio

No exclamation points or other system error indicators.

If I go into Sound settings, I see the following:
Speakers (Nahimic)
NVIDIA output
NVIDIA output
NVIDIA output
Speakers (Realtek)
Realtek digital output

Here is where it gets odd. If I enable Nahimic, the little equalizer bar shows audio is playing but I don't hear anything.

If I disable Nahimic and enable Realtek, I get error messages when trying to run anything that plays audio.

Thoughts?

FWIW since upgrading to Windows 10 recently my sound output device seems to change occasionally leaving me no sound in my headphones. Not sure if it is a bug or a game or game setting that may be changing the device. Good luck.

Kind of a same problem here. MSI B450 Gaming Pro and yesterday my sound suddenly disappeared. Trying to play music from spotify it just keeps skipping tracks like crazy. The whole windows is silent

Hi, I have the exact same motherboard and running into the same issue this morning. I tried several way but only one worked, it's an windows update error, and I think not only you running into that problem. Type service in your search bar, then click on the service panel that pop up. Then scroll down to window update on the service panel, right click hit start if you haven't, then hit restart, it takes around 10 secs to run. I just hit twice to make sure it run through lol. Then restart your device, mine all of the sudden just running again.

I figured it out as well. The MSI website has updated drivers and also instructions for reinstalling Nahimic. Here is what I did.

Removed all audio drivers from Device Manager and ran RegCleaner

Uninstalled Nahimic

Rebooted

Installed latest Nahimic driver from MSI website

Installed latest Realtec driver from MSI website

Installed Nahimic from Windows app store

Rebooted

When prompted after reboot, optimized Nahimic for Realtec audio device

Oddly enough my audio sounds much better now, particularly music

Hi guys, I have a MSI B450 Carbon AC and I saw the Nahimic software opening alone like 6 hors ago then no sound in my headset.
I managed to get it back somehow, but my maximum sound volume is lower than it was before... I tried everything and had no result for the moment.

Update: Solution #2 worked for me and the audio is back.

I have the same setup as previous posters (MIS B450 Carbon AC) and my RealTek Audio sound just randomly completely stopped after the recent Realtek driver updates also.

Fix #2 worked for me too. Thanks schampange :)

- albeit this is a crude fix as you basically revert to Vanilla driver without Nahimic (suits me though to be honest...)

Almost a month later, updated to Realtek_HD_Universal_Drivers_6.0.8911.1, downloaded from MSI and sound stopped working.

I had to read this thread and had to uncheck the "Enable audio enhancements" in the advanced tab of Speakers Properties in order to get my sound back. Took me at least an hour to figure this out.
