Sound issues.

Ok I need some advice with my on board sound. My mother board is an asus p6t, good board with good sound, my speakers are logitech x530 cheap however ok speakers. my system uses realtek hd audio.

My question is I never get all my speakers in use at one time, I can use my realtek hd audio manager and do a sound test and all the speakers are active/working, yes I have them set on 5.1 speaker configuration. I use Winamp most of the time for music and it seemes I only get sound out of three of the speakers, in game such as Battlefield 2, or Call of duty mw2 the sound is ok but never do I get sound from all 5 speakers. What am I doing wrong, Do I have it setup wrong, Do I need to go with a sound card to fix this problem.. ?

I would appreciate any comments on how to solve this issue, I am a hard core gamer that likes my music, THANKS.

Open up your speaker properties, go to enhancements, and choose virtual surround.

That's assuming you use Windows 7.

As far as getting 5.1 to work goes... a lot of games need to use hardware sound to make 5.1 work correctly. With an onboard sound card, often 5.1 just isn't going to work.
