Before i start talking about my problem, here are the specs of the system..
Compaq Presario 5000
CPU: AMD Duron 600 o/c from compaq to 700 mhz
Ram: DIMM Synchronous DRAM 64MB/64 @ 100MHz
HDD: 20GB
OS: WinME
Sound Card: SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio
Video Card: NVIDIA Vanta LT
Motherboard: Unknow, Manufacturer by Compaq but thats all i know.
System Chipset: VIA Technologies Inc VT82C691/693A/694X Apollo Pro/133/133A System Controller
While playing games, any kind of games, from those flash games to shooters like tribes 2, sounds for unknow reason just drops out and comes back after awhile.. (couple of sec most of the time) According to SiSoft Sandra, it could be that the latency is too high, but i got no idea how to lower it since Compaq bios dont allow you to..
I already tryed updating all the drivers on my comp (bios, sound card, video card).. I also tryed the 4-in-1, 4 Way Interleave and the 686B Bug Patch v.14 by george, but still the same prob..
I already ran out of ideas so anything at the moment would be very welcomed..
I'm also thinking of formating to a fresh copy of win98se without the quick restore cd from compaq which is all pretty much junk..
So let me know if that would be a good or bad idea.. TIA..
