Sound is kind of muddy since XP reinstall

I had to reinstall XP recently. I got the latest Creative Labs drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS, but I notice music sounds kind of muddy (describing sound is hard 😛) - Anyways, it sounded better before I reinstalled. I think I missed something somewhere and sound is not up to it's best quality. Everything I've found looks pretty normal...the drivers were installed successfully and it shows up in windows control panel. Connections are also good. Any other ideas what to check for? Thanks.
 
make sure there isnt any eq settings on that you didnt have on before? Perhaps the bass/treble in sound properties is not correct?
