Sound in XP

I have no start or exit sounds in windows xp. All other sounds are working fine. Have tried all fixes I

can think of. Would welcome any help. Thanx

may i ask of importance?

i am sure the shutdown and startup sounds are not defined in the "sounds" option under "control panel"

Well it isn`t important. I`m just more loveable when everything works as it should.

Have you: Gone into Control Panel/ Sounds, and made sure that whatever sound card you have is listed?
