Sound in Windows XP Themes

Hi Everybody,
I upgraded to Windows XP and now the sounds don't work in any of my themes.

Sound works--I can play MP3's, and the sound works when I click on the start button in some themes, but otherwise it does not.

I followed the instructions from the ThemeDoctor to change my settings so that XP looks in the "Old" Program Files\Plus!\Themes directory for all theme info.

Anyone have any ideas on a solution?

Thanks,
SkyDiver

Sorry I don't have a solution, but I think I have a similar problem. My sound works fine, but WindowsXP NEVER plays my start-up and shut-down sound files. I know they are there and they work, but it never plays them. 🙁 Sorry.

Look for a proggy such as Desktop Architech (sp?)............it will allow you to load all your good old 98 themes with sound, cursers, etc.. Not sure it's a freebie, but, I believe it at least has a 30 day trial. I'm sure there are other programs available............I just don't really mess with it anymore...............

Thanks ToBeMe,
But I am using Desktop Architect (and it is free).

Could it be an issue with my SB Live! sound card driver? More likely it is some little setting somewhere.
