First off computer stats:

Athlon XP 1700+ at 200x11 usually
Abit NF7-S (1 x 160GB Maxtor 8mb on it)
1 x 512mb, 2x256mb Corsair XMS PC3200
Maxtor Promise ATA/133 IDE Controller - (2 x 80GB Maxtor 8mb's on it)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Rest is irrelevant unless you need it.

Ok, I'm having problems with my sound... at FSBs, from about 150-200mhz my sound gets very crackly and inconsistent. My board is an Ultra400 board, and is rated at 400mhz ddr, as is the ram so there should be no problems running at a 200mhz FSB.. now, unless I drop my FSB all the way down to 150 the crackling doesn't go away. Now I'm down to stock, and at stock (and I think at all FSBs as well) when heavy IDE activity is occurring the system skips pretty bad (not normal slowdown, like hard skips), not just sound. I don't know if this is a related problem or not, but if you have any ideas please let me know.

I do note that the southbridge is very hot to the touch at 200mhz FSB (thanks Abit for not being able to handle what my board is rated to handle

) but that still doesn't explain my stock speeds problems.
