Anyone seen this -

Vista Ultimate, onboard sound, tried MS drivers, then downloaded/tried Gigabyte drivers - when I force it to sleep or it sleeps after designated time period -

when it wakes up, no sound hardware is recognized. A device mgr rescan hardware dowsn't pick it up. Have to reboot to get sound back.

I had a very similar problem with my HP DV2000t laptop and Vista Business 32-bit. Everytime I put it into sleep mode and it came back out there was no sound. The sound card was still detected but it was like it was on mute but I couldn't find where. A reboot fixed it everytime.

I ended up installing some older HP drivers made for XP and now it's fixed.
