Sound goes quiet after awhile

I'll be playing music throughout the day and then all of a sudden the volume totally drops. So say for example I was on volume 10 and it'll still be on 10 but it wont be as loud and i would have to turn it up to like 100 just to produce the same volume of sound.

I am using a ASUS M4A88TD-V motherboard

I downloaded all the latest audio drivers and idk what's up.
 
If you're running Windows 7, go to Control Panel > Sounds > Communications tab. Change to the "Do Nothing" radio button.

This was happening to me when I was using Ventrilo.
