That's about 36mins, this is driving me nuts as I'm trying to backup old audio tapes which are 45mins/side!:p

I've redirected SF to save files to my E drive where there is ~14GB of spare space, at 36mins the wav file is around 750MB so it's not a space issue.
At 1st I thought the sound level was dropping so low that it thought the tape was over, trying different tapes & massively lowering the threshold has made no difference, I still only get 36mins!:|
Btw I couldn't find any options to limit the recording length ,though their is a timer function you can use I don't use it.

Never had this problem with v5 which I used to use.
I couldn't find anything related on Google.

Any ideas anyone?

I'd rather not have to learn over a new program if I can help it, if I can't fix this one I'll try v6, thx anyway:thumbsup:.

Could it be a limit on the amount of temp files the program can use, or a size limit? I have no idea, but Audacity is very decent and free.

running any AVS software? i know on my tivo desktop software, if i have my kaspersky on it wont let me create a file bigger than 2gb, it just randomly stops halfway through the transfer. Maybe somethin like that? I've got SF 8, maybe ill try it and see what happens.

Interesting, yes I have Kaspersky running (an ancient version) but I've run this along with SF5 & I had no problems their, unless updates have changed more than the virus database?
Btw at 2182s the file size is ~750MB, & it always stops 2182s +/- a few tenths.

I'd be interested to see how your SF8 & KAV get along .

You could be right ,I'm wondering if the time limit is being enforced even though I haven't chosen that option, however it's default limit is 30mins not 36mins *shrug*.
I'm going to try chosing the time limited recording tonight & set it to 50mins, see what happens!

Well I set the time limit to 50mins & it still stops at 2182s! (36mins) :|

I suppose I could try re-installing it....

Been able to test it yet?
