Sound Drivers Loaded in ME, but no sound?

Hi, I recently switched over to an ECS K7S5A (see rig #2), and to make sure that all the stupid intel hardware was gone, I erased the Enum section in the registry and redetected everything. Everything else (Video, Modem, 2 NICs, etc) has gone off without a hitch, but although ME detects and installs the proper drivers for my SB Live! Value, I have absolutely no sound. The volume is grayed out in the Sound properties in the Control Panel, also, it won't let me stream music digitally in the IDE devices section of the system manager. I have tried taking out the SB Live! and using the integrated sound, same thing... drivers loaded, no sound. I have switched all my PCI Slots around in case there was a wierd conflict, no results. I have no IRQ conflicts right now. I think it directly has something to do with deleting the ENUM key in HKEYLOCALMACHINE, because it worked fine before that, with the new mobo. Just had a problem with Intel ATA Storage Drivers still being detected, why I deleted the ENUM. Probably stupid of me, but what's done is done. As a side note, Norton detects nothing wrong, nor does the windows SCANREG. Anyone help me out, or am I screwed?

I had something like that happen....different hardware though. I turned out to be a DMA conflict with the on-board sound. I had to change the Parallel port to "Normal" in the BIOS(it was EEP)...that fixed the sound. Funny it didn't show up in device manager.

No luck... tried many different things... all the settings for the parallel port (ecp, epp, both, disable, auto), and played with some other options in the system part of the system manager (pci bus, direct memory controller, etc). Thanks for trying, guess its not the same problem you had. To my knowledge, there are NO hardware conflicts, whether DMA or IRQ, I think it has to do with something in the ENUM key that I deleted.
