alright all you guru's out there...
whats up with this

i have a kt133 system 512mb pc133 ram and an athlon 1400mhz
i first noticed this playing unreal tournament.

after i quit the game the background music kept playing for like 20 seconds before it stoped.
i first thought it was the game settings or something but it's not..
and i've noticed it's happening with a lot of different apps even with winamp.. just not as bad.. maybe like a second after i quit winamp it's still playing..

anyhow..
i have an sq2500 installed right now and i am running win2k...
but i tried this with a few different sound cards.. same thing... so it's not the sound card..
i have the latest 4-in-1 drivers installed..

so whats going on..
should i maybe reinstall directx?
hmm come on guys... what do u think?

thanx..

Happens to me too. WinXP though. I've got a nortwood running at 2.2GHz. Mine stops after 5 seconds or so, but it still happens. I'd like to see what people have to say as well.

I'm not really sure what is up. Try the newest drivers for your soundcard and maybe the newest directx. The game might have done something, so look for a patch for the game.

I have a KT133A board and always notice the sound playing a little after I close winamp.

Try disabling directsound in your games/winamp/other audio programs. See if that helps.

what version of direct x are you running, have you tried running dxdiag to turn up any problems?
