Hi everyone, I have a few questions I'm hoping you guys can answer? I have an Arcam system. Alpha 10 power amp, alpha 10 integrated amp, alpha 7se CD player and the alpha 10 DAB radio. I'm running B+W 683s. I have just placed a bid on the Rotel RMB 1572 250W power amp, I didn't realize that it's a class D amplifier. I have read many things about class D amps in the last few hours and apart from them weighing less and being more efficient there is some doubt over the quality of the sound. The sound I'm getting from the Arcam's is lovely but just as it's getting to the volume I like it starts to clip. I'm hoping that I don't loose any quality for the sake of volume. My first question is. Does anyone know what class the alpha 10 power amp is? I have looked everywhere to find the answer but with no luck and when I bought it I didn't get any instructions with it. My second question is regarding synchronization. When I bought the integrated amp I was asked what power amp I was buying? When I told him it was the alpha 10 power amp he said it won't need to be synchronized as they are from the same company, once again no instructions so I was wondering if I will need to sync them and if so how? My third and final question is! Will I hear a difference in the quality of the sound? If the answer to my first question is D then it doesn't matter but if the alpha 10 is an A, AB or C will I be able to hear a difference? Hope you can help. Thanks.
