Sound Dampening Material

I am thinking of putting some sound dampening material in my new computer. I found the stuff that FrozenCPU sells and it looks nice and all, but it is it any different than just going to Best Buy and buying Dynamat or something similar?

Or is there another product that is a better choice than either?

AcoustiPack Deluxe

My own personal review of Acoustipack Deluxe.

I have to say..... AcoustiPack Deluxe was rated as one of the best Sound Dampening materials around by SPCR... but as they say, work on your components first!!!!

Sound Dampening is a last resort or last step.

Someone linked an Auto Sound web site that carried lots of different acoustic dampening materials in another thread, maybe someone will pop in with the link or name.

Any soft material that dampens vibration/resonance works. I used eggcrate packing foam from a motherboard box*, taped on with duct tape. Soft foam mousepads would probably work too, I haven't tried that one yet. Another thing that helps break up fan motor noise slightly is putting dust filters on all the fans.

The key here is to stop the case from amplifying fan motor noise, because you're not really blocking out the sound itself, your stopping the case from acting like an amplifier of it.
