sound crackles when PC comes out of standby

Hi,
I have a soundblaster 32 ENSONIQ - PCI 1370 running on a Soyo K7-VTA-B M/B - AD Athlon 1 GHz running Win 98 SE.
The sound is fine unless I decide to send the computer into standby or it goes to sleep. When the PC wakes up from standby, MP3 / Wav sounds are all cracked up. audio CDs are fine. The M/B onboard sound is disabled, so no interference from that. There are no other performance issues apart from this sound issue.

I'm sure its not the soundcard, coz it's a pull from my old system (PPro 200 Mhz) and worked fine there.

Does anyone know how to get over this. I guess I could always disable standby mode, but that apart .....

TIA 😉

Dang thats a really old sound card.. heck that onboard sound might even be better. Try updating drivers.... it could also be an IRQ problem possibly?
