I'm running Windows XP on the computer I have listed below. Now, this weird problem happened where I found I could no longer adjust the sound through my keyboard. I checked my Tray, and lo and behold, there was no volume adjustment icon like there always was. Then, I went to Sound Devices controls Panel and found that the entire changing volume option was grayed out! :Q

I've tried a system restore, it didn't work, and am now reinstalling drivers. Do you guys know how to fix this?

Looking at your rig, I would assume that it would probably be easier just to buy a new computer for someone with your finances...

Seriously, though, I am not sure about that. You didn't enable the onboard audio or something? Didn't mess with the drivers? My volume thing never shows up in the tray, but I am always able to use my keyboard to change it. Having it grey out entirely is something altogether different, though.

I would just reinstall the drivers and see if that helps, since I've never heard of such an odd problem.
