I know there are a million sound card threads, but I need a soundcard for gaming.
I need a card that is very accurate when it comes to gaming with headphones. When I hear a footstep, I want to know exactly where it came from.

I don't have too much to spend, so what are my options?
 
X-Fi is supposed to be the best for headphone gaming.

Either an XtremeMusic (not XtremeAudio) or XtremeGamer would be a good bet.

They have been as low as ~$50/$60 on sale in the past.
