Hello all
I am not sure I should post here or not.

Anyway, I am wondering, is there any point to get a sound card if I only have Logitech Z506 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers?

If yes, any recommendations? Not necessarily be a very expensive high end one, 20, 30£ would do.

Thank you.

The HT Omega Striker is quite nice at around $90USD. I'm also quite happy with the Asus Xonar DX (it costs about the same as the Striker) I put in my current rig. So, take your pick.

Bean using the onboard RealTek HD on the last several motherboards and couldn't be happier.

I am no audiophile so I may be missing something, but I have not noticed any difference in sound quality since I stopped using a Sound Blaster add in card.

thank you all.
But since my speakers are not mid-high end, and I am getting a new motherboard Asus p8z77-v lk. So the necessity to have a sound card or not is more of my concern at the moment. Have a sound card on board, would it really make that much difference?

Sorry, I am confused. Are you saying you prefer to add a sound card on your PC motherboard? Or are you saying adding a sound card makes no difference?

What he's asking is (as I see it): Given the specs of his speaker system and sound specs of his new mobo, is it worth it to add a sound card? Would a sound card improve the quality of his sound?
