no, they are just overrated and notorious for bloated bass and piercing highs.

I can shake the window frame out of the window without even turning mine all the way up. I can turn them up, leave my apartment and go into my mom's house and vacuum and still hear my music perfectly well -without turning them all the way up. The quality is just fine.
