I have an AWE 64 PCI sound card (soundblaster). It works fine in windows 2000 but when I boot into 98 the sound card either emmits a high pitch "shrill" or does nothing except play the first 1/10th of a second of the sound it's supposed to be playing.

I have given the card the latest drivers and have checked the system resoureces and they say there are no conflicts. The card says it's on IRQ9 alone.

Any ideas???

hello
this seems to be a driver mismatch or some kind of software problem
did u try installing those creative SB drivers again?
If yes and didnt work out ,Go to the website and download the latest
(there is one in (WWW.SOUNDBLASTER.COM)
And also reinstalling DirectX drivers the latest!
