Okay, So I started off with the Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic from Creative back in... when it first launched... @ 129... in which i Purchased it for 99.99 @ CES. That's when they had gold plating, the sound card looked to be in better shaped then the current cheap ones you see out on the market today. But from my understanding, it doens't matter anymore. Fast forward to Feb. 2008. Enter the Auzentech Prelude X-Fi 7.1. Yeah dolby digital live, higher grade capacitors, yada yada yada. Drivers are awful. Tech Support is awful. Doesn't even have the full range of creative lab's features. Now they release the Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatality Titanium which connects to your PCIe 1x slot. Front panel HD connection (finally) and Optical In and Out. Auzentech only had Opt out, and SPDIF in. On creative's chart, the Optical in SUPPOSEDLY lists a "GAME CONSOLE" or a "MINI DISC PLAYER". I'm guessing with the onboard "DTS and DD5.1" decoding, this means I've finally found the soundcard I'm looking for!

149.99 is not bad :)

ANybody have any experience with this sound card yet? I'd love to hear your impressions... Especially when connecting an XBox 360 or a PS3 to it for DD5.1 or DTS 5.1

Um, you seem to have forgotten to link the sound card that you found. Which sound card are we talking about here?

Hes talkin bout the titanium

I guess it would really depend on w hat you are outputting to see whether or not hooking your ps3 or xbox360 to the Xfi would be a good idea.

Once my cables come I am going to be hooking my PS3 straight to my monitor + to reciever

The thing is, I need a receiver that would hook up to my klipsch speakers (5.1 ultra) and be small enough to be right on top of my desktop... But then again, it would be SO MUCH MORE convenient if it just plugs straight into the soundcard, and have software decode it!

sweet! I'm going to call creative to see if it decodes DTS/DD5.1 on the fly... (So it'll act as a receiver)
