I have an audigy 2 ZS sound card, and anything that gets plugged into it emits a VERY high pitch noise that gets louder when u increase the volume Any ideas?

when I mute the computer, it stops

get a different sound card and see if it does the same thing? then get a different pair of speakers and see if it does the same thing also? Troubleshooting isn't rocket science.

well, I hit the mute button on my keyboard. and different speakers have the same problem. should I try putting the card in a different PCI slot?

Try a different PCI slot and get any cables near the card moved away from it... if neither works, RMA time.

And, oh yeah, wrong forum.

Go into the volume controls and mute either the line-in or microphone inputs. Sounds like feedback of some sort.

Yeah.

I'd say mute everything that you don't use.
