Sound Card Recommendations....

I am looking to replace my onboard sound on my Asus P5B Deluxe" problems with popping and cracking" with a pci sound card, lookin to spend around 50 bucks, Need it for gaming and a 2 speaker sound and front audio plugs.

Front audio plugs meaning you want to connect it to the front of your case?

Sounds like you should pick up a used Audigy2 or something for around your budget price. I assume you're not looking for great music quality, so the Audigy will be adequate.

Not that the A2 doesn't have standard connections to hook up to integrated front case connections. You can make a connection adapter or buy one (I think) though.

With Creative's EAX "monopoly", A2 seems like a solid gaming card for your range if you can get around the front panel connection issue.

You could do better if you're doing strictly music, but the A2 is a good all around card.
